One of the gaps in the Microsoft offering is a solution for smaller businesses, or those that don’t have the skills to migrate without the help of a specialist like Grey Convergence.
Long-time VoIP player BroadSoft may have created a solution: “BroadSoft and Microsoft Bring Unified Communications to Businesses of All Sizes” with a cloud-like solution. It is based on version 4.5 of the Microsoft Hosted Messaging and Collaboration software, and linked in to BroadSoft’s BroadWorks platform.
The concept fits tightly with Microsoft’s “software plus services” mantra. We’ll watch for services providers building services on the offer…
